University open events & networking

De Montfort University, Leicester

I attended university open events and networking opportunities at De Montfort University in Leicester during 2025 to explore further education, professional development and potential career pathways. During these events, I had the opportunity to learn more about university courses, the application process, student opportunities and the different routes available for progressing into higher education. I was particularly interested in understanding how further education could support my long-term ambitions within property, real estate, business and the housing sector. The experience allowed me to explore potential academic pathways, gain a better understanding of university life and develop my confidence when engaging with people in an educational and professional environment. It also encouraged me to think more carefully about the qualifications, practical experience and professional skills required to progress within the property industry.

what I gained from this experience

  • Developed a better understanding of higher education and university opportunities.
  • Explored potential routes into property, real estate and business-related careers.
  • Gained exposure to university networking and professional conversations.
  • Improved my understanding of further education and career progression.
  • Became more aware of the importance of combining academic learning with practical industry experience.
  • Strengthened my motivation to continue exploring degree apprenticeships and career opportunities.
